Your Itinerary
Day 1 - Southampton, United Kingdom, EMBARKATION
The United Kingdom's premier passenger ship port, Southampton was home to the great transatlantic liners of yesteryear. The port serves as your gateway to Southern England’s magnificent historic sites, national landmarks, charming villages as well as the great metropolis of London. Southampton is the ideal starting or ending point for a memorable voyage.
Day 2 - At Sea
Day 3 - Bergen, Norway
Your fascinating “Gateway to the Fjords” is Norway’s second-largest city, Bergen. Its maritime trade and oil industry remain vital to the economy and it’s a thriving epicenter of culture and history.
Visit the old quays of Bryggen, a World Heritage Site, and the medieval wooden houses of the city’s waterfront. You can even take a peek inside the workshops of local painters, weavers and craftsmen.
Day 4 - Alesund, Norway
You have Kaiser Wilhelm II to thank for this city’s wonder. He rebuilt his beloved gateway in Art Nouveau style after it was destroyed by fire in 1904. Lose your heart in this gem of the Nordic coast.
Today, its buildings feature dreamy turrets and ornate carvings of dragons and mythical figures. Nature has played its part too, as calm waters and distant snow-capped peaks add to the charm.
Day 5 - Aurlandsfjord, Norway (Cruise-by)
The stunning Aurlandsfjord is one of the most picturesque fjords in the world. It is part of the World Heritage region surrounding the Nærøyfjord and the world’s second-longest fjord, the Sognefjord.
The fjord, in Aurland, is 10 miles long and flanked by beautiful snow-topped mountains which stretch from Flåm to Mount Beitelen at the entrance to Nærøyfjord. It is a sight to behold.
Day 5 - Flaam, Norway
This one is for the true train lovers. From tiny Flåm there is a renowned and captivating 13-mile stretch of railway that slowly winds and climbs alongside the grand glacial splendor of Sognefjord.
The steady clickety-clack of the steepest rail line in the world is part of an unforgettable experience, and provides a unique perspective on Europe’s longest fjord. The views are quite something.
Day 5 - Sognefjord, Norway (Cruise-by)
Here is your chance to experience this unique World Heritage Site, sailing the same waters of Norse and Viking legends. This is also the opportunity to explore the many natural wonders while ashore.
Take a walking trail at your own pace, you’re never far from a memorable sight or place of interest, or choose from a selection of boat trips that take you to the islands in the fjord’s tributaries.
Day 6 - Stavanger, Norway
Norway's Stavanger is not only blessed with compelling history, but also a natural beauty. From the ancient port, the city radiates across a network of islands which are connected by graceful bridges.
Stavanger's cathedral and medieval lanes blend beautifully with the city and countryside. For a journey back in time, take a tour of Utstein Cloister, a beautifully preserved Augustin Monastery.
